Responsibilities
- Perform underwriting analysis and documentation to determine risk acceptability for renewal and new business within assigned authority
- Handle endorsement requests within delegated authority and refer exceptions to the underwriter
- Engage agencies to clarify endorsement intent or obtain missing information
- Handle assigned renewal books and triage applications/specifications for underwriter review
- Liaise within the branch and across CNA to resolve billing, collections, risk control, underwriting guidance and other issues
- Document assigned files for completeness, compliance and quality
- Execute advanced pricing strategies and document pricing rationale
- Complete quote proposals and negotiate with external partners within assigned authority
- Serve as first-line contact for producers/customers and identify upsell or account-rounding opportunities
- Assist in marketing products and services through external partners and make field visits
- Serve as a systems and workflows resource, trainer, problem solver and coach
- Keep current on line-of-business strategy, state/territory issues, regulations and trends
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience
- Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, including insurance products, policy processing procedures and documentation
- Strong time management and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks
- Strong capability to advise and coach others
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of people daily in person, via telephone and email
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
Demonstrates expertise in Property and Casualty Underwriting, including risk analysis, policy processing, and documentation. Proficient in customer service, negotiation, and advanced pricing strategies while effectively managing multiple tasks and collaborating with internal and external partners.
