Overview
Accepting applications from 10/20/2025 to 11/12/2025. Salary $20.18 to $25.49 per hour, Pay scale & grade WG 4. The BLM is looking for temporary Employees to work as Materials Handlers in Oregon.
Locations- Hines, OR
- Lakeview, OR
- Remote (no telework eligible)
Temporary – not-to-exceed 1039 hours in a service year. Hours may be extended up to 1560 hours. Full-time Service. No promotion potential.
Duties- Perform general manual duties and responsibilities in and around a warehouse.
- Load and unload equipment and supplies, stack and rotate inventory, mark inventory, and refurbish supplies.
- Monitor stock levels, issue supplies and equipment, and fill orders in accordance with standardized operating procedures.
- Maintain and issue fire supplies while documenting records.
- Deliver supplies and equipment to fire stations.
- Work in an environment that may be hot, cold, dry, wet, drafty, or poorly lit.
- Stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring, uncomfortable positions for long periods, sometimes up to 21 days without days off.
- Selective Service registration required for eligible males.
- Background investigation and fingerprint check required.
- Valid state driver’s license may be required.
- Minimum age 18 years at appointment.

Ability to perform the work with normal supervision.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations applies. No specific training or experience length is required; however, experience in the operation of a cache or warehouse to procure, issue, control, store, and judge equipment and supplies is needed.
EducationNo substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
Additional InformationPay rates vary by location. CTAP/ICTAP eligible candidates may receive selection priority if they meet the criteria. Temporary employees may receive: annual sick leave, paid federal holidays, and participation in the FEHB program.
