Position: Entry Level API with one or more API Cert (510/570/653) - Portland, OR - Permanent position

Overview

ATS is seeking a full‑time API inspector with one or more API certifications (510/570/653) to support our Portland, OR office. The role is geared toward recently certified inspectors working 30–40 hours per week with limited overtime. Requires relocation to Portland, OR.

Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections of tanks, pressure vessels, and piping to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Provide recommendations for repairs, alterations, and improvements to tanks, vessels, and piping.
  • Write detailed reports on assessments, results, and compliance findings.
  • Apply process improvement practices to enhance inspection procedures.
  • Work independently with strong leadership, organization, and multi‑tasking skills.
Qualifications
  • Must hold current API 510 and/or API 570 and/or API 653 certifications.
  • Recent API cert recipients encouraged to apply.
  • Willingness to work at heights, in confined spaces, outdoors, and at industrial sites.
  • Local to Portland, OR or willing to relocate.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a drug screen.
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
Work Conditions
  • Wearing safety equipment as required.
  • Work from heights, ladders, scaffolding, and man‑baskets.
  • Work in confined spaces requiring crawling, stooping, and climbing.
  • Work in industrial environments with operating equipment.
  • Work with radiation and hazardous materials (cleaners, penetrants, chemicals).
  • Shifts up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week; extended travel possible.
