A global, specialty chemicals manufacturing company is hiring for a Regional EHS Manager to serve as a corporate resource for sites across the western region. Covering sites in the Western US and Canada, this position will focus on fostering a culture of engagement and empowerment. They will be responsible for directing the oversight of programs that support the organization's primary goal of a compliant and incident-free workplace.
*** This is a hybrid / remote role that can be based out of the Eugene, OR / Sheboygan, WI / Denver, CO / Salt Lake City, UT / Edmonton, AB areas. Regular regional travel between sites is required (45-65%)***
- Drive EHS initiatives, core programs, and culture transformation across site, regional, and global operations.
- Administer and monitor safety training while maintaining an active on-site and remote presence with employees.
- Assess regulatory applicability, ensure H&S compliance, and lead interactions with regulatory agencies during audits and inspections.
- Identify hazards and risks, lead incident investigations, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage chemical safety, hazardous materials handling, exposure monitoring, SDS, spill prevention, and waste disposal.
- 7+ years in chemical or related manufacturing with progressive H&S responsibility across U.S. and Canadian sites; strong knowledge of U.S./Canadian regulations and PSM‑regulated facilities.
- Proven ability to drive organizational change through people leadership, coaching, mentoring, and capability building.
- Experience supporting restructuring and continuous improvement initiatives; strong project management skills and use of project management methodologies and tools
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify insights, and drive data‑based decisions to improve safety and business outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, or related field (Master’s and certifications such as CRSP, CSP, CHMM preferred); ability to travel extensively (45–65%) between sites in the region
