Responsibilities

Stationed at Warm Springs, the Program Supervisor will work on and supervise staff for the 34,000-acre Pine Creek Conservation Area (70‑80%) and the Willamette Conservation Areas Program (20‑30%). He or she will supervise three biologists, travel frequently to properties in Clarno and the Willamette basin, and work approximately 50% in the office and 50% in the field. The role requires a vision for habitat uplift and long‑term land management;

responsibilities include performing and directing various habitat monitoring actions, managing habitat restoration projects, writing reports, assisting in the development of management plans, grant writing, contract solicitation and management, conducting flora and fauna inventories, collecting GIS data, and supporting staff in management activities on the property.

The Program Supervisor must be comfortable working alone in extremely remote desert wilderness and be able to endure long periods in temperatures that may exceed 110 °F, hike long distances over steep terrain, and perform strenuous duties such as heavy lifting.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience plus a Master of Science in wildlife biology, botany, natural resources, or a related field, with five years of additional professional experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree with seven years of relevant professional experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check with federal, tribal, and state law enforcement.
  • Pass a pre‑employment alcohol/drug screening.
