Senior Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Movement Search and Delivery is working with a leading manufacturing company in Clackamas, OR, to identify and evaluate a Sr EHS Manager

Were looking for a forward looking leader to evaulate exisiting programs revamp as needed and create new ones. This is a leadership role with strategic and tactical responsibility. The role requires a hands‑on manager who is willing to maintain a high level of visibility with the company’s management team and manufacturing and fabrication teams. This person will lead, manage, direct, and support the development of the company’s safety and industrial hygiene programs as well as provide programmatic direction for the plant.

Provide support & guidance in these areas:

• New Equipment Review and Approval
• OSHA compliance
• Safety training
• Identification, evaluation and control of industrial hygiene exposures
• Ergonomics
• Emergency Response
• Injury / incident prevention and analysis
• May be required to handle hazardous waste
• May be required to complete hazardous waste management training
• May be required to complete Emergency Coordinator Training

Responsible for supporting and developing industrial safety compliance programs as well as developing an effective injury/incident prevention program, which demonstrates a reduction in injury frequency and severity and a corresponding decrease in workers’ compensation costs.

Make recommendations on improvements to programs with data to substantiate the recommendations and will be seen as a safety advisor to the plant’s leadership team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Engineering required;
  Master’s preferred.
• Bachelor or Masters in Chemistry, Biology, Public Health or Engineering acceptable with appropriate workplace experience.
• CSP or CIH preferred. Candidates who have passed first exams for CSP or CIH certifications also acceptable.
• 10-15 years of progressive safety, environmental or industrial hygiene experience in a heavy manufacturing setting or as a safety and loss control consultant for a casualty insurer or major insurance broker.
• Experience with leading and managing safety programs as well as management of a safety team.
• Knowledge of Oregon OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory agency requirements.
• Ability to interpret safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene regulations and requirements and determine the most effective implementation strategy.
• Knowledge of workers compensation is a plus.
