Job Summary

The Blending Operator will serve multiple roles within the department, focusing on material handling and blending. At first, operators will be trained in the Material Handler (Blending Operator I) role and then transition into full blending operation (Blending Operator II). Duties include operating PIT equipment, organizing, stacking, pulling, and maintaining inventory of raw materials and finished goods, assembling orders according to Material Issue Slips, learning about raw material interactions in blends, and performing machine operation functions in multiple locations to support production goals.

Shift

& Compensation

Shift: 2 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday – Friday.

Starting pay: $23.00 per hour plus $1.00 per hour for swing shift.

Responsibilities
  • Hours may exceed 40 hours per business needs.
  • Within 30 days of hire, pass job‑related assessments.
  • Operate PIT equipment as needed for specific duties.
  • Determine which batches to pull or blend according to production needs and schedule.
  • Set up batches for future blending, ensuring proper raw‑material paperwork.
  • Set up, operate, break down, and clean blending machines and workstations.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for blending and weighing raw materials.
  • Make calculations pertaining to the batch and batch paperwork.
  • Move, stack, lift, dispense, and verify materials during blending operations.
  • Visually and manually inspect materials and finished goods according to inspection guidelines.
  • Effectively problem‑solve and recognize out‑of‑control events, discontinuing operations until remedy.
  • Complete documentation accurately and legibly per established procedures.
  • Work collaboratively within and outside the department, maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Understand how the finished product is utilized by other departments.
  • Check and correct unsafe conditions and report safety problems immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including cleaning machines and tools.
  • Be present at the physical job location for the assigned shift.
  • Train others and/or participate in a task force to improve procedures or operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Pass all job‑related tests and certifications required for a cGMP quality environment, and re‑qualify yearly as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of current warehouse material‑handling experience in a manufacturing environment desirable; 3 to 6 years experience preferred.
  • Target industries: pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, electronic, chemical, cosmetics, and food.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; basic shop math, algebra, and basic computer skills.
  • 1 year of experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience with hand truck, forklift, and other PIT equipment preferred.
  • Experience with FDA/cGMP compliance preferred.
  • A legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
