Position: Sanitation Operations (Bread Plant)

Job Description

Join our team as a Sanitation Technician at the Clackamas bread plant. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and ensuring safety across the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Work around large processing equipment in which chemicals will be used to complete the sanitation process
  • Disassemble, wash, clean, and sanitize all production line equipment at the end of the production week or after a changeover to prevent cross‑contamination of product
  • Clean walls, floors, fixtures (e.g., pipes, hoses, inlet and outlet nozzles, etc.) and drains within the department using established procedures
  • Wash all utensils used for processing and mixing of products
  • Be trained and certified to follow sanitation procedures for proper chemical solution use and proper concentrations to protect workers and equipment
  • Check cleaning records indicating frequency, duration, temperature, concentration, and use of final sanitizing product
  • Coordinate cleaning with maintenance & production for on‑time production start‑up, following Sanitation schedules
  • Perform duties designed to control insects and pests within the plant
  • Clean eyewash and replenish solution as needed
  • Perform general housekeeping in plant and office areas (take out trash, clean bathrooms, sweep and mop floors; clean up any messes or spills). Keep the building’s interior and exterior clean and orderly
  • Follow all safety procedures, participate in safety training, maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and PPE, and report any injury, accident, or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor
  • Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes); monitor and correct violations in assigned area
  • Be trained and certified in Lock‑Out, Tag‑Out process
  • Support product safety, quality, and legality
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
  • Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance required

  • Sanitation experience preferred
  • 6 months to 1 year experience preferred

Pay

The targeted hourly pay rate range for this position is $21.99–$24.74 per hour. Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Benefits & Compensation

Pay and benefits may vary by location, experience, and collective bargaining agreement. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may also be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans.
