Job Description & How to Apply Below
Description
Production runs on people who keep things moving. At Thysse, the Material Handler role is foundational to everything we do — making sure the right materials are in the right place so our production teams can do their best work. If you take pride in staying organized, take safety seriously, and like being the person the shop floor counts on, this could be a great fit.
WhatYou'll Do
This role is all about keeping production moving. You'll work closely with our Print and Wide Format teams to make sure materials are staged, organized, and ready to go — and you'll own the recycling and waste management side of operations to keep our facility clean and compliant.
Material Handling & Production Support- Coordinate with production teams to ensure materials, substrates, and supplies are available and staged for daily operations
- Transport materials to designated staging areas according to production schedules
- Retrieve items from inventory based on team requests and project needs
- Create and maintain staging areas for upcoming projects to improve workflow efficiency
- Remove and replace tip carts across the shop floor to maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Manage the rotation of full and empty gaylords on the dock throughout the day
- Load gaylords onto recycling trailers and coordinate removal with vendors
- Break down cardboard and scrap materials in preparation for scheduled pickups
- Operate the baler multiple times daily to process cardboard and scrap — this is a regular, hands‑on part of the routine
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe baling area and load finished bales onto the appropriate trailers
- Follow all dock safety protocols and procedures as directed by the Production Manager
- Handle and transport materials safely and in compliance with internal standards
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior experience in a material handling, warehouse, or production support role preferred
- Valid driver's license required — must be able to operate company vehicles
- Forklift certification required (multiple lift truck types); must be maintained
- Comfort working in a physical, fast‑paced production environment
- Reliable — the team counts on you to show up and follow through
- Safety‑minded — you don't cut corners when it comes to protocols
- A natural organizer — you notice when things are out of place and fix it
- Physically capable and ready to be on your feet, lifting, and moving throughout your shift
- A team player who communicates well and works across departments without friction
- Family‑owned and values‑driven — we genuinely care about the people who work here
- Stable, full‑time, 1st shift schedule
- Climate‑controlled facility – no sweating through summers or freezing through winters on the shop floor
- A close‑knit team that works hard and looks out for each other
- Opportunity to grow within a company that promotes from within
