As the Production Supervisor at our bread production facility, you will be responsible for managing the daily production operations, ensuring that production schedules are met while maintaining the highest quality standards. You’ll lead and motivate a team of production workers, monitor equipment performance, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting training, and collaborating with other departments to resolve any production issues.
Your leadership will be crucial in delivering consistently high‑quality bread products to our customers.
The position will be based in Clackamas, Oregon.
Main Responsibilities- Production Oversight:
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. - Staff Supervision:
Lead, supervise, and support production associates; conduct performance evaluations, provide corrective action notices, and constructive feedback. - Quality Control:
Train staff, monitor, and enforce quality control standards; address and rectify issues affecting product quality. - Inventory Management:
Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory; coordinate with supply chain to optimize stock levels. - Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for improvement and propose scalable solutions; implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. - Safety Compliance:
Enforce and promote safety protocols; conduct regular safety training. - Communication:
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (quality, logistics, maintenance) and share information accurately, clearly, and respectfully. - Training & Development:
Train new employees and provide ongoing skill enhancement. - Problem Resolution:
Resolve production‑related issues promptly and implement corrective actions. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.) and update procedures as needed. - Equipment Maintenance:
Coordinate maintenance schedules and address issues promptly to minimize downtime. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate production records and generate reports for management on production metrics.
- Two or more years of leadership experience in a production environment.
- One or more years experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong leadership background – ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
- Ability to manage and develop employees.
- Strong working knowledge of MS applications and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to grasp additional business‑related applications.
