As a Chemical Technician
, you play a critical role in ensuring smooth operation of production equipment and chemical processes within the aluminum can manufacturing environment.
Our crews work 12‑hour shifts (6am‑6pm / 6pm‑6am) on a rotating 2‑3‑2 schedule, with shifts rotating every four weeks.
Responsibilities- Handle day‑to‑day operations, monitor chemical processes, and maintain equipment to support efficient and safe production.
- Operate production machinery and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Monitor and control chemical processes to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to specifications.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations, handling chemicals and equipment responsibly to prevent accidents.
- Conduct quality checks and implement improvements to maintain high standards in product output.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, following established procedures to maintain continuous operations.
- Document activities and incidents, ensuring clear communication with supervisors and team members.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at optimizing processes, reducing waste, and enhancing overall production efficiency.
- 1+ years of job‑related experience (preferred work experience with hazardous chemicals).
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; additional technical training or coursework in chemistry or related fields is preferred.
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA) are a plus.
- Basic computer skills.
- Expected hiring salary range: $33.69/hr.
- Eligibility to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
- On‑site work environment; requires regular in‑person engagement; travel and local commute may be required.
- Equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
- Proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals used in manufacturing processes.
- Preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures.
- Quality control procedures and ability to conduct inspections and tests.
- Data recording; accurate documentation of process parameters, maintenance activities, and incident reports.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital tools for communication and task execution.
- Chemical process monitoring and control.
