JOB DESCRIPTION

Tina for Oregon is seeking a hardworking, organized, and detail-oriented Press Assistant for the 2026 election cycle. The Press Assistant will support the campaign's communications team in executing day-to-day press operations, drafting written materials, and helping ensure the campaign's message is communicated effectively across earned media. This role is ideal for someone with campaign or communications experience who is eager to grow in a fast-paced campaign environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with campaign team to execute communications strategy and tactics
  • Assist with day-to-day press operations, including compiling press clips, maintaining media lists, and tracking reporter inquiries
  • Draft press releases, media advisories, statements, talking points, and other written materials
  • Help coordinate and staff campaign press events across the state
  • Assist with press logistics, reporter outreach, and interview coordination
  • Monitor news coverage and flag relevant stories for campaign leadership
  • Provide general communications and rapid response support as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least one campaign cycle or comparable communications, political, or public affairs experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work long campaign hours, including evenings, weekends, and irregular schedules
  • Familiarity with Oregon politics is a plus but not required
