Job Description & How to Apply Below

Marys River Watershed Council (MRWC) is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting voluntary stewardship of the Marys River watershed in western Oregon. The watershed provides drinking water to more than 60,000 residents, and MRWC works with landowners, schools, community groups, and public agencies to restore streams, forests, and prairies while fostering environmental education and community engagement. This project will strengthen MRWC’s capacity to expand environmental education, outreach, and volunteer engagement efforts that reach low-income residents and communities who may face barriers to accessing watershed education, stewardship opportunities, and information about local environmental resources.

By building sustainable outreach systems and educational tools, the VISTA will help MRWC improve long‑term access to environmental learning and community stewardship opportunities for underserved residents. Successful candidates should be organized, adaptable, creative, and passionate about environmental stewardship and community engagement. Strong communication skills and an interest in education, outreach, or conservation are preferred. This project runs from August 2026 through August 2027.

To learn more about the position, project activities, and application process, interested candidates should contact Stewards Individual Placements.
