Rogue Retreat Ameri Corps Life Skills Coordinator

The Rogue Retreat Ameri Corps volunteers provide meaningful service that addresses critical community needs across Southern Oregon. These programs improve access to social services by reducing barriers to education, mentoring, job skills development, employment resources, family stability, and healthy futures. Volunteers spend 85% of their time serving in dedicated projects and 15% participating in civic engagement and professional development opportunities with their Ameri Corps cohort.

Through their service, they also help recruit, retain, and support community volunteers at their host sites.

Member Duties

The Life Skills Coordinator will help develop and implement a comprehensive Life Skills Program for over 450 adults of all ages. Life Skills provide education, social engagement, resource connection, and peer support to guests and participants in Rogue Retreat’s fourteen housing and shelter sites. This includes apartments, recovery houses, Hope Village, The Kelly Shelter, The Redwood Inn, and Rogue Retreat Crossings.

The Life Skills Coordinator will collaborate with the Supportive Services team and a variety of community partners to establish a comprehensive enrichment program for participants in Rogue Retreat’s housing and shelter programs. These classes will empower our guests, residents, and participants to strengthen the quality of their lives by providing community resources and education to further their success. The Life Skills Coordinator will attend as a Peer Support Specialist in Addiction Recovery and may obtain certification through the State of Oregon.
