RN – Wound Ostomy *Per Diem

Job Summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence nurse. The position is per diem, part‑time, weekdays, day shift.

• Develop individualized wound, ostomy, and skin‑care plans that guide patients from hospital to home.
• Educate patients and families on self‑management of wounds, stomas, and incontinence.
• Train and mentor nursing staff across the hospital on best practices for wound, ostomy, and skin‑care.
• Lead quarterly Skin Prevalence studies and serve as the Skin Care Resource Nurse.
• Provide ongoing support at the outpatient ostomy clinic, including stoma‑site markings and follow‑up care.
• Act as a clinical resource and consultant for acute and rehabilitative care of patients with gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary conditions such as complex wounds, fistulae, pressure ulcers, and moisture‑related skin injuries.
• Participate on regional patient‑care committees.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid Oregon Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification – American Heart Association.
• Current Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (CWON) certification, or obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2years recent acute‑care nursing experience, preferably including wound and ostomy care.

• Competitive base pay range: $46.54 – $72.26 per hour.
