Job Summary
Wallowa Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Services Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care to patients in our surgical, endoscopy, pre-operative and PACU settings. The RN plays a critical role in patient preparation, intraoperative support and post-anesthesia recovery while ensuring communication and coordination among the surgical team. This position also supports equipment readiness, inventory maintenance and performance improvement initiatives, all while upholding the mission, vision and values of WCHCD.
Responsibilities- Providing direct, age-appropriate care in surgical, endoscopy, pre-op and PACU environments
- Communicating continuously with surgeons and anesthesia providers regarding patient status
- Monitoring, positioning and assisting patients during procedures
- Preparing and educating patients for surgical experiences and post-anesthesia care
- Supporting patients through the transition from anesthesia to full responsiveness and discharge readiness
- Assisting with surgery admissions, scheduling and coordinating pre-op visits
- Administering moderate sedation for minor procedures (as trained and authorized)
- Ensuring surgical suites are properly equipped and stocked for procedures
- Participating in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Current BLS/CPR and ACLS certification required
- Completion of Peri-Op 101 preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records and related computer systems
- Passion for working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations
- Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of criminal background check, drug screening and reference checks

Salary Range: $43.45 + DOE + Shift Differential
