RN - Emergency Department (Part-Time, Evening Shifts

Role Summary

The registered nurse (RN) collaborates with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, focusing on diagnosing and treating human responses to health problems. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing individualized care and discharge plans, executing medical protocols, accurately documenting care, and evaluating patient responses to treatments. The RN coordinates care activities across departments and community agencies, delegates tasks appropriately, and addresses emergency situations efficiently.

• Minimum nine months RN experience, with at least one year in emergency care or completion of a specialized internship program.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and valid RN license.
• Required certifications include Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and NIH Stroke Scale within specified time frames.
• Additional skills in computer use, pediatric emergency courses, and recognition of cardiac dysrhythmias are preferred.

• Perform multi-system assessments, identify deviations, and reassess throughout hospitalization.
• Develop and coordinate personalized care and discharge plans, prioritizing patient needs.
• Implement protocols, carry out physician orders, administer medications accurately, and perform procedures correctly.
• Evaluate patient responses, participate in quality assurance activities, and utilize a multidisciplinary approach when needed.
• Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal skills, and adherence to professional standards.
