Winding Waters Clinic is looking for a dedicated Regional School Nurse / Pediatric Nurse Care Manager to join our mission of delivering exceptional, patient-centered, and community-wide care across Wallowa County. In this dynamic, dual-impact role, you will lead comprehensive school health programs across four school districts while providing specialized pediatric care management to ensure every child has the care, support, and resources they need to thrive.

What You Will Do In the Schools (Regional School Nurse)
  • Student-Centered Nursing Care:
    Deliver evidence-based school nursing services, manage acute illness/injuries, support chronic conditions, and create Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs).
  • Delegation & Training:
    Serve as the clinical nursing expert, delegating tasks and building capacity among school staff, health room aides, and educators.
  • System & School Health Improvement:
    Serve on district School Health Improvement Teams, collaborate with the Oregon School Nurses Association (OSNA), and help evaluate health services using the Oregon School Nurse Acuity Tool.
  • Population Health & Screenings:
    Lead mandated health screenings (vision, hearing, dental), track immunizations, monitor communicable diseases, and support infection control and emergency planning.
In the Clinic & Community (Pediatric Nurse Care Manager)
  • Holistic Care Coordination:
    Coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams, specialists, primary care, and public health to address youth physical, psychological, and developmental needs.
  • Bridging Clinical & Home Care:
    Partner with Community Health Workers to assist families with health transitions, chronic disease management, and navigating local resources.
  • Advocacy & Support:
    Act as a champion for youth and families in healthcare and educational settings, including IEP and Section 504 plan processes.
  • Quality & Compliance:
    Maintain accurate records in electronic health systems (OCHIN, ALERT, SNAP) strictly adhering to FERPA, HIPAA, and PHI standards, while helping drive continuous LEAN quality improvement.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
  • Licensure:
    Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oregon.
  • Travel:
    Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel regionally between participating school districts.
  • Confidentiality:
    Absolute commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality under FERPA, HIPAA, and PHI privacy laws.
