RN, OR First Assist

About This Role

The RN, OR First Assist provides critical support to the surgical team during the intra-operative phase of surgical care. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who excel in collaboration and advanced nursing care within the surgical environment.

• Pay: $59 - $87/hour
• Location: Clackamas, OR
• Facility: Kaiser Permanente
• Schedule: Full Time

• Perform pre-operative assessment and evaluation.
• Collaborate with the surgical team on the plan of care.
• Provide technical assistance to the surgeon during operative procedures.
• Handle and/or cut tissue, providing hemostasis as directed by the surgeon.
• Suture as directed by the surgeon.
• Evaluate the patient post-operatively according to facility protocols.
• Communicate information to maintain continuity of care.
• Function as an assistant in all surgical specialties at the direction of the attending surgeon.
• Assist with room preparation in collaboration with the Circulating Nurse and scrub person.
• Monitor free counted items on the sterile field and observe for breaks in sterile technique.

• Education:
  
  Associate's Degree (ADN) required
• Experience:
  
  Experienced level required

  Current RN License in Oregon
