Quackenbush Farm is located in the beautiful Clackamas River Valley, about 30 minutes southeast of Portland. Our focus has primarily been diversified, organic, fresh market veggies, with an emphasis on heirloom and old‑world varieties where flavor is more important than shelf‑life. The farm is a thriving business with our main markets being our weekend farmer’s markets, wholesale (school districts), restaurants, and a small on‑site farm stand.

Our production methods revolve around intensive, sustainable annual crop production. We are certified organic and utilize a variety of conservation practices to minimize our impact on the land and soil, including cover cropping, crop rotations, reduced tillage, pollinator plantings and hedgerows, and more.

We are seeking to fill seasonal full‑time farm crew positions for 2026. These positions will be part of a small team responsible for most day‑to‑day operations of the farm. The season is from April through October, with potential for part‑time work through the winter.

• Perform day‑to‑day field operations, including propagation, field preparation, planting, weeding and cultivation, pest and disease management, and harvest.
• Perform post‑harvest processing duties such as sorting, washing, bunching, packing orders, and food safety.
• Vending at our farmer’s markets.
• Other duties include record keeping, irrigation installation and repair, trellising, field walks and crop observations, cleaning and farm maintenance, and various odd jobs such as light carpentry and repair.

• At least one season of prior farming or similar fast‑paced work experience.
• Physically able to endure repetitive motions such as stooping, squatting, and reaching, lifting 50 lbs, and able to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required to fulfill job duties (driving farm vehicles on public roads).
• A personal interest in sustainable agriculture.
• Because our business is located in an area without access to reliable public transportation, we only recommend that applicants with access to a vehicle apply.

• Experience working in a kitchen or food service environment, or a similar small‑team environment where speed, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to set clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and be respectful in a small team environment.
• Able to balance attention to detail with speed and efficiency, and understand when to lean one way or the other.
• Safety conscious.
• Able to work independently without supervision, and ask questions when clarification is needed.

Some flexibility is possible, but typically full‑time schedules are Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday, including one farmer's market per week, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Compensation is $16.50/hr to start, plus farm share of produce and paid leave.
