Quality Control Lead (Manager to Associate Director)

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Control leader to oversee the successful delivery of a large-scale laboratory programme, ensuring every stage is executed to the highest quality and regulatory standards.

Your objectives

As the Quality Control Lead
, you will be measured against the following objectives:

  • Lead the successful delivery of all Quality Control activities across the laboratory project, ensuring milestones are achieved safely, compliantly and on schedule.
  • Establish a Quality Control function that is inspection-ready from day one, with robust systems, documentation and processes that support long-term operational success.
  • Build trusted partnerships across the business, driving continuous improvement and ensuring quality remains at the centre of every project decision.
What you will do

As the Quality Control Lead
, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the Quality Control workstream for a major laboratory project from planning through to operational readiness.
  • Overseeing the development of new laboratory capabilities, consolidation activities and Quality Control programmes that support product release.
  • Acting as the Quality Control lead for cross-functional project teams, providing clear technical direction and ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Working closely with Quality Assurance (QA), site leadership, customers and regulatory bodies to support project delivery and inspection readiness.
  • Driving quality risk management, management reviews, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement activities throughout the project.
  • Identifying and escalating project risks that could affect compliance, timelines or budgets, while recommending practical solutions.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in regulatory expectations and industry best practice, ensuring these are reflected throughout the project.
What you will bring

To succeed as the Quality Control Lead
, you will bring:

  • Significant experience leading Quality Control within a regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex laboratory or Quality Control transformation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), data integrity, regulatory compliance and Quality Control operations.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience managing risk, driving quality improvements and delivering complex programmes.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and build effective relationships across technical, operational and commercial teams.
  • A Bachelor s degree in a scientific discipline.
  • An advanced scientific qualification or recognised project management certification would be advantageous.
