Job Summary
As an Assistant Manager, you are part of the leadership team. You help drive profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and strong community engagement. You provide immediate feedback and coaching to the sales team to maximize performance, collaborate with the leadership team to adapt strategies for business success, and ensure smooth operational support as needed.
What You’ll Do- Support the Store Director and Associate Store Manager to directly impact business results while maximizing profitability.
- Own your designated division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling, etc.).
- Manage store operations, systems, and technology while ensuring accountability.
- Assist the Director and Associate Manager with recruiting, training, and development efforts if needed.
- Partner with the Director and Manager to create a collaborative working environment for all associates.
- Ensure the team stays on track to exceed goals and provide best-in-class customer service.
- Lead fit sessions that boost product knowledge for associates.
- Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
- Step into a variety of roles on the sales floor if needed.
- Have 1–2years of retail management experience with a similar scope.
- Passionately support our brand, customers, and teams.
- Stay up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments.
- Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
- Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty and demonstrating strong problem‑solving skills.
- Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to bend, reach, stretch for product, and lift, carry, and move at least 40pounds (18kg).

Hourly Range: $21.50–$27.00. The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The base salary is one component of J.Crew Group’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes the opportunity for bonuses, competitive benefits, and perks.
