Vegetable Technical Seed Sales Manager PNW

Location: Remote, within assigned territory – Idaho, Washington, Oregon preferred

Reports to: National Vegetable Sales Manager

FLSA: Exempt, Full Time

Hours: Variable, depending on business needs

Starting salary: $80,000 DOE

About the Technical Seed Sales Manager Role

The Technical Seed Sales Manager is responsible for product knowledge, customer relationship management, market knowledge, and a desire to fulfill customer and grower needs while promoting American Takii variety portfolio to optimize sales in the assigned region.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage vegetable seed sales to American Takii’s Seed Dealer Network in the assigned region.
  • Make timely sales calls to regional seed dealers and their sales teams and provide timely technical support.
  • Provide market information and forecasts for future production to internal American Takii management.
  • Develop relationships with local growers, packers, shippers, and processors and promote Takii products.
  • Make product recommendations to dealers and/or growers based on regional market needs and growing conditions.
  • Initiate sample requests for new and established varieties for product development and promotion purposes.
  • Work closely with Product Manager and R&D to support research and product development trials in the assigned region.
  • Evaluate new products for agronomic performance and market acceptance using data collection tools provided by American Takii.
  • Report trial results to internal American Takii management on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with National Vegetable Sales Manager to develop sales and marketing strategies to support the regional dealers and create sales growth in the region.
  • Represent American Takii at regional and national industry events to build industry relationships, promote Takii products and gather market information.
  • Continually develop product knowledge of American Takii’s product line.
  • Work together with Product Manager and American Takii management on product complaint discovery and recommend timely resolution strategies.
Skills, Qualifications and Education General
  • BS or BA in Agricultural Science or Agricultural Management/Marketing or demonstrated ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Five years’ experience in commercial vegetable seed sales and/or vegetable production, equivalent experience or demonstrated ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Excellent communication skills through oral presentations and written reports in English. French, Spanish, and/or Japanese language skills is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal direction while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Express confidence and professionalism with cross‑functional teams, both internally and externally.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize under pressure and meet timelines.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly paced environment, prioritize tasks, meet multiple deadlines, and ensure that work is accomplished in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with seed dealers and growers in the assigned region.
  • Be insurable with a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel within North America.
