As a Sr. Area Sales Manager – Retail (Enterprise), you will play a critical role in driving sales growth and market share across Owens Corning’s retail channel. In this role, you will serve as a product and program expert, working directly with customers, store teams, and internal partners to deliver value‑driven solutions and support execution in the field.
You will engage customers in‑store and within the field to strengthen relationships, support product adoption, and ensure consistent execution across locations. This role combines sales leadership, relationship management, and operational execution to drive profitable growth and enhance the customer experience.
POSITION LOCATION: Portland, OR or Seattle, WA
What You Will Be Doing:- Partner with Regional Sales Leadership and Channel Marketing to develop and execute strategies that drive revenue growth and increase market share across the assigned region.
- Analyze territory and sales data to identify opportunities for growth, product mix optimization, and performance improvement.
- Lead in‑store execution efforts to support sell‑through across product lines, including new product launches, promotional programs, and high‑priority SKUs.
- Build and strengthen relationships with store teams, including Pro desks, Millwork, and Building Materials associates, to drive engagement and volume.
- Support contractor and remodeler business development by partnering with Pro Account Leaders to identify and secure regional opportunities.
- Quote and support closing of large‑volume projects, contributing to incremental sales growth at the store level.
- Deliver product knowledge and training to store associates to ensure consistent execution and improve customer experience.
- Support profitability by identifying opportunities for value‑based selling and improved product mix.
- Maintain merchandising standards and ensure compliance with planogram and in‑store execution requirements.
- Partner with internal teams and functions to align communication, share insights, and support execution across the field.
- Serve as a liaison for warranty and quality‑related concerns, supporting issue resolution while balancing customer needs and business priorities.
- Identify and support implementation of process improvements that enhance sales effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in sales, account management, or retail/commercial field roles, with demonstrated ability to drive results.
- Experience working across multiple locations, markets, or territories.
- Experience supporting or influencing others through training, coaching, or informal leadership.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to engage customers, store teams, and cross‑functional partners.
- Ability to analyze data and apply insights to improve sales performance and decision‑making.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a fast‑paced, field‑based environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to navigate challenges with a solutions‑oriented mindset.
- Experience in building materials, retail, or construction‑related industries.
- Experience working with contractors, remodelers, or PRO customer segments.
- Familiarity with merchandising systems, planograms, or retail execution tools.
- Experience supporting or launching new products within a retail or field sales environment.
- Experience managing or influencing cost, pricing, or profitability drivers.
The base salary for this position is $72,000, with the potential for up to an additional 25% if the applicant hired has additional related qualifications.
