Engineered Specialty Products operates as a vital subsidiary within Flow Control Group (FCG), a prominent holdings company that is a leading solutions provider for flow control, fluid handling, process, industrial automation and life sciences across North America.
Responsible for growth and support of the company's sales goals through professional sales techniques and good customer service, maintaining quality relations with existing accounts, cold calling, and providing sales coverage for assigned accounts in the assigned territory. This position will be selling Industrial Valves and controls.
Essential FunctionsIn‑person sales and in‑house coverage of assigned accounts requiring the use of a personal vehicle (car allowance and mileage). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Duties / Responsibilities- Develop maximum sales potential out of assigned territory through competitive sales techniques and knowledge of the company's products and services as well as the competition's strengths/weaknesses.
- Identify customer needs and problems through proactive mapping of applications.
- Create customized proposals based on reviewing specific customer requirements.
- Present creative solutions to customers that provide improved performance and cost savings; build and maintain quality relations with existing assigned accounts and grow account base and volume of sales on a consistent basis.
- Contact customers via telephone, correspondence, or in person by traveling as frequently as necessary to meet and surpass sales goals.
- Manage profit margins within company guidelines.
- Support growth of product portfolio by recruiting new vendors to the business.
- Receive and resolve customer requests in a timely manner.
- Utilize company leads to expand current customer base and follow up all leads promptly.
- Maintain updated, organized files on all accounts in assigned territory.
- Complete and submit sales reports daily on account activity; provide monthly documentation with outstanding proposals, proposals secured, and proposals lost.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Extensive knowledge of industrial processes and temperature gauges, flow instrumentation and industrial products.
- Strong mechanical aptitude or engineering degree.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, writing, and reading skills; ability to communicate at all levels.
- Presentation skills.
- Math and currency aptitude.
- Strong computer skills, the ability to work with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets.
- Discipline to be a self‑starter, have a strong work ethic, and work independently; awareness and sensitivity to deadlines.
- Working knowledge of a geographic area.
- Ability to work with a team environment.
