Responsibilities- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Performing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires—and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
- Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team and independently
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to understand and comply with Penske management instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information
- Ability to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function
- Driver qualification requirements: maintain a current driver qualification file, including an annual motor vehicle records check, DOT physical, and safety performance history records. CDL holders must pass a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and be subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review
- Willingness to work the required schedule, complete Penske employment application, submit to background screening, pass a drug screen and physical, and travel within a near geography for training
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods during scheduled working period
- Use hands daily to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, or otherwise operate required tools or controls
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated work platforms
- Work safely in all weather conditions
- Navigate workplace with adequate vision and hearing, especially with frequent movement of large trucks
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg). Ability to push or pull truck tires exceeding 100 pounds
Base pay: $26.50 per hour
ScheduleTues‑Thu 3:30 p‑12:00 a. Fri 1:30 p‑10:00 p. Sat 7:00 a‑3:30 p.
Shift DifferentialsSecond shift start times after 11 a.m. are eligible for $3.00 per hour shift differential.
Third shift start time after 9 p.m. are eligible for $4.00 per hour shift differential.
