We are looking for a talented Diesel Mechanic to join our Port Hedland team, specialising in heavy vehicle repairs and maintenance across automotive, On-Highway, Off-Highway, mining, Marine, and Power Generation applications. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the benefits of FIFO from Perth or living locally in a coastal town, while working in a busy Cummins workshop environment rather than being limited to a mine-site-based role.

• Deliver a first-class service to our customers across mining, automotive and power generation
• Complete breakdown repairs and scheduled maintenance of heavy diesel products
• Diagnose and repair various engines
• Engine rebuilding and reconditioning
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to the Field Service Supervisor
• Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
• Enjoy a broad and varied scope of work across a wide range of Cummins equipment, giving you exposure beyond the typical FIFO mine-site role and the opportunity to develop your skills across multiple product applications in a clean, well-equipped workshop setting

• Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards)
• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products in field service. Cummins engines is highly preferred
• Solid diagnostic and IT capabilities
• Previous experience of working in the Pilbara is highly desirable
• Experience working with Cummins X15 On-Highway engines or similar heavy-duty diesel products is highly regarded
• Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-focused solutions

• Promotes and models proactive Health & Safety practices to support an injury-free workplace
• Applies diagnostics to identify issues, follow troubleshooting workflows, and validate repairs
• Utilises electronic service tools to diagnose, maintain, and resolve service issues
• Analyses engine system interactions to accurately diagnose and repair faults
• Repairs and maintains products to standard, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
• Completes accurate service documentation for tracking and reporting
• Escalates technical issues appropriately using available tools and resources
• Values diverse perspectives and contributes to an inclusive workplace
• Communicates clearly across multiple formats to meet diverse audience needs

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
• Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations

• Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
• Expert level knowledge of the X15 platform is preferred
• FIFO workshop technician role
• FIFO housing is provided in Port Hedland

Due to the operational nature and specific job duties of this role, work is required to be completed 100% in person/On-site.
