About Empowered Services

Empowered Services is a one‑on‑one attendant care agency providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) support and community‑based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Through our Empowered Choice Program (ECP), individuals receiving services can choose a trusted friend or family member to become their paid Direct Support Professional (DSP).

We are hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) through our Friends & Family Caregiver Program.

This is a non‑traditional caregiving role where you support someone you already know and are connected to (friend, family member, or trusted individual) who:

• Is part of the I/DD community
• Has a Service Coordinator
• Qualifies for in‑home support services through Medicaid

You will provide 1:1, person‑centered care while Empowered Services manages payroll, onboarding, and compliance.

• This position is for Oregon residents only
• You must be selected by the individual receiving services
• Hours are based on state‑authorized service plans
• This is not a traditional client assignment

• Provide ADL support (hygiene, meals, mobility, daily routines)
• Assist with medication reminders or support (as applicable)
• Support community access (appointments, errands, activities)
• Encourage independence and skill development
• Follow the individual’s approved service plan
• Maintain professional boundaries and clear communication
• Accurately document services and daily activities
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment

Providers may qualify for one of the following pay structures based on service authorization:

• $25.00/hour
• No authorized overtime

• $22.00/hour
• Up to 20 hours of overtime authorized per week
• Overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half ($33.00/hour)
• Up to 60 total hours per week (based on eligibility and approval)

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be chosen by the individual receiving services
• Ability to pass a background check through the State of Oregon (not all records are disqualifying)
• Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
• Comfortable providing personal care support
