Responsibilities
- Create, design, develop, test, and deliver authentication features for smart‑chip–based print products.
- Define and implement secure authentication protocols between supplies and printers.
- Collaborate with firmware, ASIC/microcontroller vendors, HP product teams, and cryptography teams on secure implementations.
- Support threat modeling and attack analysis related to counterfeit and aftermarket supplies.
- Drive authentication requirements into new product introductions (NPI).
- Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure robust deployment.
- Support field issues related to authentication failures or security events.
- Support IP enforcement activity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7-10 years of experience developing firmware or software.
- Experience with embedded systems, secure microcontrollers, or firmware-integrated hardware.
- Working knowledge of authentication, security protocols, or cryptographic concepts.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally across hardware, firmware, security, and manufacturing teams.
