Lubricants Driver and Warehouse (Island of Oahu) - $27.50+ (DOE) Primary Purpose
Delivers lubricants and other products to customers and performs various warehouse duties. Works under the direct supervision of the Lubricants Manager.
Essential Duties / Functions- Drives delivery truck and dispenses bulk oil.
- Uses forklift in warehouse to prepare delivery loads.
- Delivers 55-gallon drums to customers using a drum dolly.
- Interacts with customers, contractors, suppliers, governmental agencies, and other employees.
- Learns the product offering and uses resources to assist manager with answering customers’ questions.
- Assists Will‑Call customers with product retrieval.
- Communicates issues concerning scheduling, inventory control, safety and other operational issues.
- Receives containers of oil from supplier, unloads container, verifies invoice accuracy, and moves product to designated warehouse location.
- Assists with the installation of equipment.
- Maintains all work areas in a clean, safe and organized fashion.
- Assists Warehouse person with housekeeping and maintenance of warehouse.
- Performs other duties as required.
Delivers products to customers.
- Completes documentation for product sales and inventory control.
- Supports outside sales staff with customer assistance.
- Communicates issues concerning scheduling, inventory control, safety and other operational issues.
- Maintains all equipment and work areas in a clean, safe and organized fashion.
- Inspects equipment daily and ensures that all machinery is clean and in proper working order.
Communicates with customers on the phone or in person at point of delivery.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Prepares warehouse for product delivery from suppliers.
- Assists in inventory of products in warehouse.
- Attends training classes.
- Participates in HAZMAT, Forklift and Driver Improvement training courses.
- Works in warehouse and office environments and drives delivery vehicle to customers’ places of business to make deliveries.
- Loads, unloads, and drives truck to make deliveries. Operates forklift and pumps, carries hoses, uses hand truck, and lifts containers.
- Frequent use of pallet jacks, forklifts, delivery trucks, hand trucks, pumping equipment, ladders, and safety equipment.
- Occasional use of standard office equipment.
- Is willing and capable to accept proper training to become forklift certified.
Monday through Friday. Shifts normally begin between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and run eight (8) to nine (9) hours long. Flexibility to work extended hours as necessary.
Mental Demands- Requires attention to detail, concentration and alertness for accuracy, driving and oil spill prevention.
- Frequent standing, loading and unloading oil products.
- Continuous eye‑hand‑foot coordination, use of corrected vision, depth perception and wide field of vision required for operating a vehicle and forklift.
- Visiting and working at sites other than the office and warehouse to conduct business.
- Frequent walking, reaching and handling of equipment.
- Frequent rolling of a 55‑gallon drum (440 lbs.) and carrying cases of quarts of oil.
- Occasional sitting and use of computer keyboard.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs.
- Effectively communicates in a professional manner using both oral and written skills.
- Proficient in email and cell phone communication.
- Proper use of oral and written Standard English grammar.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and other employees.
- Possesses good driving and material handling skills.
- Possesses logical reasoning abilities.
- Exhibits self‑starting and self‑motivational traits.
- Able to understand instructions and to work independently with minimal supervision for prolonged periods of time.
- High School Diploma.
- Valid Class B CDL Driver’s License.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience driving a commercial vehicle and making route deliveries to customers’ places of business.
