Overview
This position offers the opportunity to serve as a welcoming point of connection for students, employees, and community members at Utah Valley University. Working under the guidance of a manager and supervisor, the role supports the smooth day-to-day operations of a high-traffic service area while delivering positive, solution-focused customer service. Employees in this position play a visible role in helping people navigate campus resources, services, and events, making a direct impact on the overall UVU experience.
The work is diverse and engaging, combining front-line service with administrative and technical responsibilities. Tasks include issuing , selling transit passes, managing lost and found, handling financial transactions, generating reports, and researching information in university systems. The position also offers opportunities to support website updates and event reporting, helping build skills in communication, organization, and information management. This role is well suited for individuals who enjoy helping others, working with systems and data, and being part of a collaborative, service-oriented university environment.
Responsibilities- Provide quality customer service to students, staff, faculty, and community members using the services of UVU.
- Sell UTA transit passes and tickets.
- Accept, organize, pick-up, and maintain campus lost and found.
- Take deposits for the UVU Green Bucks accounts and balance cash drawer daily. Generate for students, staff, and faculty.
- Provide clients with information about the programs and services of the University.
- Provide information and location of campus events.
- Research information on the Student Information System.
- Provide quality customer service to students, staff, faculty, and community members using the UVU Contract.
- Postal Unit Services.
- Balance cash drawers and complete shift deposits.
- Create and generate various financial and benchmark reports for Campus Connection and the Post Office.
- Assist with updating website information and marketing Campus Connection/UVU CPU.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six months experience related to the summary of duties.
- Passport regulations will be helpful, but not required.
- Other shipping experience with UPS, Fed Ex, etc. is also helpful.
- Knowledge of USPS regulations, policies, procedures and services.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of General Accounting Principles and practices.
- Knowledge about FERPA regulations are helpful.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite helpful.
- Skills with MS Office, especially Excel.
- Skills with accounting.
- Must be able to count American monies accurately.
- Must be able to research using the internet.
- Must be able to clearly give verbal and written instructions in English (other languages are helpful).
