Personnel Assistant I
Position:
Personnel Assistant I. This role performs a variety of general personnel clerical tasks in areas such as employee records, benefits, education, training, employment/staffing, compensation, employee labor relations, and equal employment opportunity/affirmative action. The assistant will conduct surveys, update manual and automated personnel records, and operate general office equipment including typewriter, personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile. This position is under general supervision of higher‑level personnel for preparation of various human resource tasks throughout compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, EEO procedures, and policy administration.
- General clerical and secretarial duties related to HR tasks across compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, EEO procedures, and policy administration.
- Operate office equipment such as typewriters, PCs, copiers, adding machines, and facsimile.
- Exercise discretion and judgment as required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and clearable for a federal clearance.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Preferred minimum of 2 years administrative or military personnel experience.
- Operational knowledge or experience processing identification issuance requests and issuing s for building and system access, DoD CAC Card issuance policies and procedures, and DEERS/RAPIDS training certificates.
- Initiated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and favorable FBI fingerprint check, or an eDoD‑equivalent investigation.
- Valid U.S. state driver’s license applicable to the vehicle operated.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Able to read, comprehend, and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from both internal and external sources, and effectively communicate and present information to clients and employees.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to organize work, define and solve problems, manage priorities, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and formulate a plan of action. Participate in prioritization of work and decision‑making on resource allocation.

Work EnvironmentPrimarily performed in an office setting with occasional travel to off‑site projects, outdoor work, warehouses, supply points, motor pools, maintenance facilities, etc.
