Utah Valley University is seeking a Student Services Assistant I to support students throughout the admissions process. This role provides guidance on undergraduate and graduate admissions, Utah residency, requirements, policies, procedures, and available resources while maintaining accurate student records and information in systems such as Banner and the Customer Relationship Manager (CRM). The position also performs daily system processes, resolves issues as needed, and contributes to Admissions projects.

- Runs and evaluates system processes. Organizes, maintains, and updates files, databases and/or other documents and input a high volume of Admissions documentation while maintaining accurate, detailed, and confidential student data in the Customer Relationship Manager and Student Information System.
- Advises students on Admissions requirements, policies, procedures, resources, and degree programs, as well as residency policy.
- Interacts with the public via email, telephone, and in-person office visitors, including the use of mass emailing systems.
- Assists and contributes with a variety of Admissions projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including cross‑training and assisting team members.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling four years is required.
Knowledge- Knowledge of college admission procedures.
- Knowledge of best practices for handling a large volume of documents.
- Knowledge of Utah residency requirements.
- Knowledge of Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Skill in effective communication, public speaking, and rapport‑building.
- Skilled with computer software applications, including Banner, CRM, Microsoft Teams, Jira, etc.
- Skill in interpersonal communication, problem solving, and decision making.
- Skill in procedures and office equipment related to the needs of the department.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with student information system.
- Ability to work with a wide range of confidential issues.
- Ability to meet and communicate with public.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all student populations.
- Ability to solve problems creatively.
