Job Summary
The VP, Investor Relations will implement strategies to ensure consistent, timely, and relevant enterprise messaging. Responsibilities include supporting investment and M&A activities, building business cases, performing due diligence, and articulating how proposed activities align with the company’s strategic vision. The role maintains the public image by communicating strategy, programs, accomplishments, key performance metrics, and viewpoints to investors, reporters, customers, employees, and stakeholders through announcements, editorial placements and executive speaking engagements.
Responsibilities- Oversee quarterly earnings processes, including preparation of conference calls, materials (slides and script of remarks), and press releases.
- Organize follow‑up calls or meetings, collaborating with Finance, Legal, and external parties.
- Support investment/M&A activity by providing business cases, participating in due diligence, and aiding strategy development.
- Develop overall investor outreach strategy, including conference participation and non‑deal roadshows, focusing on direct engagement with target institutional investors.
- Develop an appropriately prioritized sell‑side engagement strategy.
- Educate investors regarding the company’s strategy and financial model, responding to inquiries.
- Analyze investor feedback, sentiment, and questions for senior executives, the Board, and the Public Relations teams.
- Help frame potential responses and/or disclosures.
- Manage the Investor Relations webpage and prepare relevant institutional presentations and publications.
- Develop, implement, and execute corporate communication strategies and plans.
- Conceptualize, write, edit, and distribute press releases, media alerts, pitch letters, and other materials covering diverse subject matter.
- Ensure media access 24/7 for emergencies or breaking news, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Follow all legal policies, especially surrounding material non‑public information.
- Experience leading within a matrix organization without direct reporting relationships.
- Minimum 7+ years in investor relations, corporate communications, or a PR agency environment.
- Familiarity with IR/PR field concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Experience interacting with investors and analysts, business press, and high‑profile media under tight deadlines; retail industry press is a plus.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Proficiency with press release distribution and database/monitoring services (e.g., Cision, Point).
- Existing relationships with local and national media are a plus.
- Strong investor relations and corporate communications skills.
- Deep financial analysis and modeling capability.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools.
- BA/BS degree in finance is preferred.
