A growing aviation aftermarket distributor is expanding its leadership team and hiring a Sales Manager or Sales Director to support the continued growth and operational maturity of its sales organization. The company has an established base of experienced sellers and long-standing customer relationships and is investing in leadership focused on structure, coaching, and execution as the business scales.
This role is ideal for a high-performing aviation aftermarket seller or current team lead ready to step into broader leadership responsibility. The position focuses on improving team performance, strengthening processes, and helping create consistency across the commercial organization while remaining close to customers and day-to-day operations.
In this position, you will oversee and support a team of sales specialists and account managers while partnering closely with senior commercial leadership on forecasting, execution, and organizational development. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited for someone who enjoys staying close to deals, customers, and team execution rather than operating purely at a strategic level.
This is a full time, permanent position on a remote basis. Travel approximately 15-25% for customer visits, industry events, and internal meetings.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop account managers and sales specialists supporting airline, operator, and MRO customers
- Provide coaching on deal strategy, negotiation, and relationship management
- Conduct regular one‑on‑ones, pipeline reviews, and performance discussions
- Support complex customer engagements and assist with strategic opportunities when needed
- Promote accountability while maintaining a collaborative, performance‑driven environment
- Establish consistent sales processes and reporting standards across the team
- Drive CRM discipline and pipeline visibility using platforms such as Salesforce or Av Sight
- Partner with leadership on territory alignment and account coverage as the organization grows
- Support onboarding and development plans for new hires
- Help create scalable workflows that improve efficiency and forecast reliability
- Track key commercial metrics including pipeline health, win rates, deal size, and sales cycle timelines
- Identify performance gaps and implement practical improvement plans
- Lead regular forecasting cadence and contribute to monthly and quarterly business reviews
- Ensure consistent reporting and accountability across the sales organization
The role will directly oversee a team consisting of sales specialists and account managers and will collaborate closely with senior commercial leadership as the organization continues to grow.
Experience- 10+ years of aviation aftermarket sales or component distribution experience
- Prior experience managing or leading sales teams within the aviation aftermarket ecosystem
- Strong understanding of airline, operator, and MRO purchasing dynamics
- Experience working within CRM platforms such as Salesforce, AvSight, or similar tools
- Track record of improving team performance through coaching and operational discipline
- Respected leader capable of coaching experienced sellers without micromanaging
- Comfortable operating in a growing organization where processes continue to evolve
- Hands‑on and pragmatic, willing to step into deals when needed
- Strong communicator who balances accountability with team development
