About

The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Part‑time Float Teller/New Accounts Representative for our Southern Region: includes Provo, Orem, Pleasant Grove, Springville, Spanish Fork, and Salem branches.

Task

To assist customers and potential customers by providing friendly, accurate, and timely assistance. Recommends and explains banking services and products based on their needs, presenting solution‑based banking services and products, and assists with client inquiries and complaint resolution. Assists customers with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.

Prime Candidate Responsibilities
  • Receive and process customer financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, cashier’s checks, fund transfers and selling gift cards. Maintain and balance cash or teller drawer daily, while adhering to assigned transaction limits.
  • Become proficient in the Bank’s products and services enabling you to provide solution‑based banking services and products for customer needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns that are within your authority and elevate to appropriate manager when needed. Answer phones, process wire transfers, stop payments, check orders, and create debit cards.
  • Provide excellent customer service and deepen relationships by following established customer service standards.
  • Open and close branch as schedule deems necessary.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Complete required bank training courses within the assigned time frame(s). Learners must ensure they understand the information given in each training and seek clarification when needed.
  • Actively work on the Summit Progression Program to learn and develop assigned skills and increase proficiency.

  • Represent Altabank professionally, maintaining a positive attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability. Keep work area tidy and protect customer privacy. Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, and timely attendance to achieve in‑person contact with customers.
  • Duties may change.
Schedule

Monday‑Friday 11:30–5 or 12:30–6 with occasional Saturday 9–1.

About You Qualifications
  • Zero‑six months of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
Knowledge, Skill, Ability
  • Detail orientation for working with numbers and names.
  • Excellent customer‑service skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to interact calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside the organization.
  • Capacity for regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to change through time management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms. The employee must also be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators;

perform work on a computer for an average of 6–8 hours per day; work extended hours or travel off site when required; climb or descend stairs in an emergency; and have the required lifting and vision abilities as described.
