Position Announcement

The Visitor Services Assistant serves as the first point of contact for the university, providing a welcoming and professional experience for all visitors. This role staffs the Fugal Gateway Building front desk, greets guests, answers general questions, checks in campus tours, and directs individuals to appropriate offices or locations. The position also coordinates with admissions, events, and the President's Office as needed to support daily operations and special visits.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Must be a current UVU student.
  • Availability to work assigned front desk shifts during business hours
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service or front desk experience
  • Familiarity with Utah Valley University campus, offices, and services
  • Experience working with visitors, tours, or events
  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of Utah Valley University, including campus layout, offices, and visitor resources
  • Understanding of customer service principles and professional front desk expectations
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide friendly, welcoming, and professional customer service
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions, schedule, and established procedures
  • Ability to interact confidently with a diverse range of visitors, including prospective student, families, and campus partners
  • Ability to remain professional, attentive, and approachable throughout assigned shifts
  • Ability to manage light administrative or front desk tasks while maintaining a welcoming presence
  • Ability to learn and retain university information quickly
