Position Overview
Department of Architecture Engineering Design ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Architecture Technology to begin August 1, 2026.
The faculty member will develop and teach architectural courses in technical areas such as building science, structures, BIM, and professional practice. The faculty member will engage in scholarly activities that contribute to the mission of the university, department, and profession, and will provide service at the department, college, and university levels.

The Department of Architecture & Engineering Design offers a five‑year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree that prepares students for professional licensure and leadership in the built environment. The program is distinguished by its 21st‑century classical approach, treating architecture as a living tradition grounded in human‑scale design, craft, sustainability, and cultural continuity while engaging contemporary technologies and professional practice.
Responsibilities- Instruct and supervise individuals and groups in classrooms, online, and laboratories through demonstration, discussion, visual aids, individualized instruction, lectures, and other appropriate methods.
- Plan, prepare, and follow an approved course of study that includes measurable objectives for each course taught. Prepare instructional materials and evaluate student performance using appropriate testing and grading procedures.
- Engage in scholarly activities including applied research and produce scholarly/creative work consistent with disciplinary specialization and the academic goals of the department.
- Serve the department, college, and university by attending departmental meetings, working on committees, and accepting other service appointments.
- NAAB or other accredited professional degree in architecture (M.Arch).
- Preferred:
Professional practice experience in an architecture office, minimum of three years. - Preferred:
Certificate in Classical Architecture from the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA) or a degree from a university with a focus in classical or traditional architecture. - Preferred:
Experience working directly with the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). - Preferred:
One or more years of successful teaching experience in higher education. - Preferred:
Professional license in Architecture or completion of the experience requirements of the AXP program and being on track to complete the six sections of the Architectural Registration Exam.

- Demonstrated knowledge of building technology and integrated building systems, including BIM, construction documentation, MEP coordination, and building materials and methods, both traditional and contemporary.
- In‑depth knowledge of traditional and classical architectural theory, history, and design.
- Awareness of cultural and historical contexts influencing architectural design.
- Understanding of the NAAB accreditation process.
- Knowledge of building science and building codes.
- Skill in translating technical and project management knowledge into effective, design‑integrated instruction across architectural technology curricula.
