Utah Valley University offers adjunct faculty the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the next generation of dancers by teaching in a program that values both technical excellence and artistic growth. In this role, instructors may teach across a range of courses‑including Ballet Technique and Theory at all levels, Pointe, Variation, Character Dance, Music for Ballet Dancers, and Choreography‑bringing their expertise directly into a student‑centered learning environment.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Teaches courses in one or more of the following areas: all levels of Ballet Technique and Theory, Pointe, Variation, Character Dance, Music for Ballet Dancers, and Choreography.
  • Plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study with measurable objectives for each course taught.
  • Prepares instructional materials, evaluates instruction and learning by means of written, oral, practical, and performance tests; maintains a student‑oriented approach to teaching, submits student grades and all requested departmental materials in a timely manner.
  • Attends mandatory adjunct meetings.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

A high school diploma with teaching and/or professional experience in ballet.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Knowledge of subject matter and course content of courses taught.
  • Effective interpersonal, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Must be able to motivate and evaluate students and interact effectively with other dance faculty.
