Teaches undergraduate courses in finance and may teach graduate-level courses as needed. Courses may include Introduction to Finance, Corporate Finance, and Financial Statement Analysis. Plans and delivers an approved course of study with measurable objectives, including preparing instructional materials such as syllabi, exams, and teaching aids. Instructs and supervises students through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, online instruction, and other appropriate instructional methods.
Evaluates student learning through written, oral, practical, and performance assessments. Supports student success and may recommend students for advancement and graduation. Maintains an active research agenda to meet Scholarly Academic (SA) standards under AACSB accreditation requirements. Collaborates with department leadership, faculty, and advisors to support program effectiveness. Participates in institutional service by serving on committees and attending faculty meetings.
Ph.D. in Finance, Financial Economics, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD candidates will also be considered. Must have a degree in hand at the start of the fall semester. Foreign equivalent degree accepted. Demonstrable ability to effectively teach university finance courses, including corporate finance. Demonstrable ability to apply theoretical knowledge and financial market data to practical, real-world finance problems in teaching.
Demonstrable ability to provide a student-oriented approach to education as demonstrated by student evaluations. Demonstrable ability to conduct academic research leading to publication in finance journals. Demonstrable ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and university administrators.
