Granite Connection High School - Drivers Education Teacher (Hourly)Applicant must either have a current Utah Secondary teaching license, a current out-of-state license, or must already have at least a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university AND have already been approved for a current Associate Educator License (AEL) through the Utah State Board of Education.
Please upload the following document with your application depending on your licensure situation:
- In and out-of-state applicants must upload a copy of their state license with their application in order to be considered
- If approved for an Associate Secondary License, please upload both a copy of your highest university degree AND your AEL eligibility letter
- New graduates from teacher preparation programs who have not yet received their official teaching license should upload a conferral letter from their university in place of the license. The conferral letter must be on official university letterhead and must include:
- The degree earned
- The anticipated graduation date
- The type of license and content area(s) in which the candidate will be recommended to the Utah State Board of Education
Candidates must have officially graduated prior to the position start date. An official copy of the teaching license and degree will be required upon hire.
Position is part‑time, one class period each day.
- Driver and Safety Education endorsement required
- Requires that the applicant have and maintain a "Satisfactory driving record" as defined in Utah Administrative Rule R277-311.
- ESL endorsement preferred.
- Knowledge of Utah Drivers education Curriculum.
- Applicant may be required to be an assistant/head coach.
- Ability to use and implement approved curriculum maps.
- Ability to evaluate student academic progress through various formal and informal assessments.
- Ability to communicate student academic progress to parents through various formats.
- Willing to collaborate and work with other professionals in PLC's.
- Willing to work collaboratively with other departments in the school.
- Must be able to build a positive working relationship with students, school staff, administration, business partners, parents and the community.
- Candidate must have the ability to continue a program with strong traditions, and have the skills necessary to work with an involved community.
Position begins 2026 – 2027 school year.
