Mathematics Teacher – Junior High – 0.5 FTE ()
Location:
Churchill Jr. High
Requirements:
- A Utah Professional Secondary teaching license, an out-of-state Professional Secondary license, or a current Associate Secondary Educator License (AEL) through the Utah State Board of Education.
- Math Level 2, 3 or 4 endorsement required.
- ESL endorsement preferred.
- Ready to assist with extracurricular activities.

- State license for in‑state and out‑of‑state applicants.
- For Associate License holders: highest university degree and AEL eligibility letter.
- For new graduates: a conferral letter from university on official letterhead containing degree earned, anticipated graduation date, and type of license and content area(s).

- Teach the core content areas outlined in the Utah State Board of Education Core Curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and provide individualized and small‑group instruction.
- Use effective teaching techniques and research‑based methods to facilitate student learning.
- Incorporate computers and other technological equipment into instruction.
- Supervise students indoors and outdoors, including recess and gym activities.
- Maintain standards of student behavior, organization, and appropriate discipline strategies.
- Evaluate students’ growth, maintain records, and prepare progress reports.
- Implement Proficiency‑Based Learning and the Granite Way.
- Communicate with parents via conferences, calls, e‑mail, student planners, and school website.
- Collaborate with colleagues regarding student academic and personal growth.
- Ensure attendance, physical presence, and timeliness.
- Create and maintain functional displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
- Keep the classroom and campus safe and supportive.
- Engage in district in‑service and self‑selected professional development.
- Attend faculty meetings, evaluation procedures, and committee work.
- Administer student attendance policies and standardized tests per state and district procedures.
- Select and requisition instructional materials; maintain inventory records.
- Model professional and ethical standards with students, parents, and community.
- Adhere to laws, district policies, and the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission.
- Act as a positive role model.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move supplies up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Frequent speaking, hearing, and the use of hands for handling objects. Vision including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
