Hourly Pay Rate: $14.50
Tutor WSU students in Computer Science at the Ogden Learning Center as part of the Learning Support department. Tutoring is done on a drop‑in basis. Availability for drop‑in shifts is determined by the tutor. The university provides training in tutoring techniques.
This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. The pool will expire after a period of time and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications- Must be a WSU student.
- Must have earned a B or better in the courses you propose to tutor.
- A strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
- Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
- Ability to tutor many different courses.
Expressing or exchanging ideas. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately or quickly. Ability to receive detailed information with or without assistance. Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Sedentary work; the job involves picking up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or negligible force frequently. Sitting most of the time, walking and standing only occasionally if ever.
Visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field of vision. Activities include preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
