Job Summary/Basic Function:
Office Assistants are reliable, detail-oriented individuals that support the daily operations of the Math Tutoring Center. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to being successful.
Office Assistant needed Tuesday 9:30 – 11:30 AM and Thursday 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM for the Spring semester.
Required Qualifications- Create a welcoming environment for all students, such as greeting students who sign in using the kiosk.
- Assist students with the Math Tutoring Center queue process and answer any additional questions the student may have.
- Direct tutors to specific student sessions.
- Ensure tutors and students have the supplies needed for an effective tutoring session (paper, utensils, etc.).
- Compose professional email correspondence with students about the center’s hours, scheduling appointments, and any other center-related questions.
- Maintain the center’s cleanliness and organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with Starfish.

Visual Acuity RequirementsRequired to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading. Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
