Instructional Coach - Granger High School - (1.0 FTE)
Responsibilities- Support the philosophy and vision of Granite School District.
- Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers with a focus on improving student achievement.
- Create positive relationships with teachers and administrators.
- Communicate and demonstrate researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance.
- Provide individualized classroom-based coaching with teachers to support them in implementing effective instructional practices.
- Provide non-evaluative feedback to teachers based on observed classroom practice.
- Provide support in analyzing student assessment data and assist teachers with instructional decisions based on assessment data when appropriate.
- Assist teachers with specific classroom strategies and with creating materials aligned with the Utah Core Curriculum.
- Model effective, differentiated instruction; manage time and schedule flexibility to maximize teacher schedules and learning.
- Develop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with teachers; participate in professional development for instructional coaches (peer observations, professional research and reading, inquiry sessions).
- Work collaboratively with other instructional coaches, curriculum specialists, and district specialists; adapt to building needs as required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching and/or instructional coaching experience.
- Requires a current Utah Professional Educator License; no Associate (AEL) License candidates will be considered.
- Requires a professional Instructional Coaching endorsement or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Utah Core Standards; experience in evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Knowledge and experience in classroom instruction, instructional coaching, adult learning theory, and organizational change.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; ability to design and deliver quality professional development; professional written and oral communication.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching and/or coaching experience.
- Requires a current Utah Professional Educator License. No Associate (AEL) License candidates will be considered.
- Requires a professional Instructional Coaching endorsement or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and perform typical job duties; physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Work may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation.
