Granite Technical Institute (GTI) – CTE – Agriculture Teacher – (.67

The Granite Technical Institute is seeking a qualified and motivated Career and Technical Education (CTE) Agriculture teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher may be responsible for teaching:
- Biology/Agriculture Science
- Natural Resource Science 1
- Natural Resource Science 2

Required CertificationRequires one of the following:
- a valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with an agriculture, agriculture comprehensive or natural resource science endorsement; OR
- a valid Associate Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with an agriculture, agriculture comprehensive or natural resource science endorsement; or
- a bachelor's degree in a related field including such areas as: natural resources, plant and soil science, agricultural biology.
- a passing score on the Praxis 5701 (Agriculture) of 147 or higher.
- completed coursework in the competency areas found on the Utah State Board of Education endorsement requirements webpage at the provided URL
- New teacher education program graduates who have not received their teaching license yet may upload a conferral letter from their university education program in lieu of their license. This letter must include the anticipated date of graduation and the specific areas in which the applicant will be licensed.
Required Documentation - Please upload the following document with your application depending on your licensure/credential situation above:
- In and out-of-state applicants must upload a copy of their current state license.
- If approved for an Associate License, please upload a copy of your highest university degree AND your AEL eligibility letter in lieu of a full teaching license
- New teacher education program graduates, who do not have their official teaching license yet, should upload a conferral letter from their university education program in lieu of their license, verifying date of graduation, and in which content area(s). Candidate must have officially graduated before hire. A copy of the candidates official teaching license and degree will be required upon hire.
- If qualifying by university degree only, applicant should upload the applicable degree when asked for a teaching license. Applicant will be required to complete requirements for a professional secondary license with all required endorsements within 3 years of hire.
- If qualifying based on completed coursework, upload a copy of your college transcript with the courses circled that meet the requirements listed on the state application for an endorsement listed above.
- If qualifying based on a Praxis assessment, applicants should upload an official Praxis Score Report issued by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
- Ability to maintain an orderly classroom lab and outdoor environment.
- Ability to pass all safety requirements including being able to demonstrate correct use of equipment.
- Willingness to act as an advisor for the FFA CTSO and to integrate CTSO standards into classroom instruction.
- Knowledge of current industry certifications related to areas of instruction and ability to support students in gaining in demand industry skills.
