Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the full‑time Social Work Administrative Assistant, the program coordinator collaborates with the Social Work Academic Department, faculty, and administrative staff to manage social work student needs. The coordinator plans and carries out program orientations and events, guides students through the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Certificate and related social work program certificates and degrees, and ensures students complete the required coursework.
Workload varies by semester and requires an on‑campus presence at least 2–3 days per week at various SLCC campus locations.
The part‑time position is integral to the success of the BHT certificate and other workforce‑ready programs within the department.
Responsibilities include:
- Building collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
- Providing student advising and support throughout the program sequence.
- Coordinating program‑wide orientations and events.
- Assisting faculty with academic advising and student progress monitoring.
- Maintaining program records and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
- Organized and able to communicate clearly.
- Willing to contribute to the vision and growth of the social work program to meet behavioral healthcare needs.
- Effective communication with a broad range of people and backgrounds, fostering positive working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic groups, including individuals with disabilities.
- Proficiency in computers and software such as Canvas and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Forms).
- Capacity to learn, comprehend, and disseminate information about the social work certificates/program, college system, and resources.
Ability to obtain a BHT and/or SUDC licensure through DOPL within 12 months of hire date.
Preferred QualificationsAssociate of Science Degree in Social Work or closely related field.
