As an Adjunct Instructor in Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University, you'll play a meaningful role in helping students build the analytical and problem-solving skills essential for academic success and informed decision-making. Summary of Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of Developmental Mathematics or Quantitative Reasoning courses.
- Plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study with measurable objectives for each course taught.
- Prepares instructional materials, including course syllabi, exams, and instructional materials as necessary.
- Evaluates student learning utilizing accepted assessment strategies.
- Engages classes in a student-oriented approach to instruction.
- Maintains and submits records of student accountability and performance.
- Provides an open, student-centered, welcoming, and respectful classroom environment.
Graduated from an accredited university with a minimum of a B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field. Must have 18 credit hours of graduate-level mathematics/statistics to teach MAT 1000 or above.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.

- Knowledge of the principles and methodology of subject matter and course content.
- Skill in instruction strategies and techniques.
- Skill in classroom management.
- Ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
- Ability to communicate (written and oral) with a wide variety of students, faculty, and others effectively.
- Ability to engage in innovative, student-centered pedagogy.
- Interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, and supervisory skills.
