School Support Leader, Elementary

The School Support Leader, Elementary supports school leadership by coordinating the Tier II Early Literacy program, literacy intervention services, and student support systems. This position assists in supervising and mentoring para educators and collaborates with teachers and school administration to support student success through data-driven practices.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate students identified as at-risk in reading and mathematics.
- Coordinate intervention services and develop academic support plans for students.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents to monitor student progress.
- Support the implementation of current instructional strategies and best practices.
- Assist in developing and implementing student behavior intervention plans.
Maintain records and data related to student interventions and assessments. - Manage student intervention schedules and support services.
- Participate in professional development, leadership meetings, and school teams.
- Research instructional resources and materials for supporting at-risk students.
- Mentor and evaluate para educators, providing professional guidance.
- Support the principal with administrative and instructional leadership responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Certificates and Licenses- Teaching Credential
- Science of Reading Certificate (Such as LETRS) or have passed the Utah Foundations of Reading Assessment (can be completed during the first year)
- Administrative License preferred
- Literacy or Literacy Specialist Endorsement preferred
- National Board Certification preferred
- The district requires training annually
- Maintains certificates and/or licenses
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Criminal Background / Fingerprinting Check
Reports to the assigned supervisor.
