Lead Library Assistant

Position: LEAD LIBRARY ASSISTANT
The Orem Public Library is currently hiring for a Lead Library Assistant in the Collection Services Division. This is a part-time,non-benefited position.

The primary responsibility for this position is to coordinate workflow between areas of the Division by directing staff to tasks that need attention. This position will also perform specialized tasks in one or more areas, which may be:
Acquisitions, Cataloging, Collection Maintenance, Circulation In, Stacks, or others as required. The Lead Library Assistant will run reports, help with holds, assist with cross-training, and perform other duties as assigned.

Two years post high school education or equivalent level of work experience. Experience working in a library environment is preferred. Skills in operating a computer and related technologies as applied to library and information science. Ability to lift approximately 40 pounds. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience.

Approximately 20 hours per week. Monday through Friday, some evenings and weekends required.
